Dear Friend,
Look at the energy we ALL put into our advocacy this year!
Together we delivered millions in well-deserved compensation to early childhood educators through the first round of the Pay Equity Fund that the Under 3 DC coalition successfully advocated for to address fair and equitable compensation for the educators that dedicate their lives to the early childhood education profession. Early next year, all staff working in early learning programs will have access to HealthCare4ChildCare, a new health insurance program offering free coverage to employees. These investments provide for consistent and stable bonds for children in the most critical time in their earliest development.
Together we amplified young people’s voices and their experiences with out-of-school-time programs, youth homelessness services, and the juvenile justice system along with opportunities to speak their truth to policymakers.
Together we have fought for expanded health and nutrition support for families
struggling to make ends meet, stronger support for home visiting programs providing vital services for new parents, and increased funding for out-of-school-time programs to ensure all District young people can experience safe, fun, and enriching opportunities beyond the classroom.
Let’s not stop here. Together, we can do more. Effective advocacy requires collaboration and persistence. Today we’re asking you to join us by making a donation to our work and even consider becoming a monthly contributor. As long as systemic racial injustice exists DC Action will be hard at work aiming to dismantle it and rebuild more equitable systems with our young people at the center.
Thanks to a very generous donor, any contribution you make between now and December 31 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $18,000. Double the impact of your donation when you give today!
Onward,
Kimberly Perry

About DC Action
DC Action is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, multi-issue advocacy organization making the District of Columbia a place where all kids grow up safe, resilient, powerful and heard. DC Action uses research, data, and a racial equity lens to break down barriers that stand in the way of all kids reaching their full potential. We are home to DC Kids Count, Under 3 DC, DC Out-of-School Time Coalition, the DC Home Visiting Council and the Youth Economic Justice and Housing Coalition. Our collaborative advocacy campaigns bring the power of young people and all residents to raise their voices to create change.
