DC Action for Children joins the membership of the Partnership for America’s Children, a national network of state and local child advocacy organizations working to improve policies affecting children and youth at the local, state, and national level.
The Partnership for America’s Children works to ensure that child policy organizations have the tools and resources they need to succeed. While hundreds of public and private organizations provide services to children, there are very few solely dedicated to speaking up for the needs of kids in the local and state policy arena. The Partnership's mission is to connect, strengthen, and inspire multi-issue child advocacy organizations that address the needs of the whole child. It is also leading the national Count All Kids Initiative to make sure every young child is counted in the 2020 Census.
“We are pleased to welcome DC Action for Children to the Partnership. We connect and support members in many ways, focusing particular attention on sharing advocacy strategies, helping a new generation of executive directors, and building member financial stability through improved foundation exposure and individual donor fundraising,” said Partnership Network Director Deborah Stein.
“During a time of rapid growth and re-building,” said Kimberly Perry, DC Action’s Executive Director, “There is no doubt our organization will greatly benefit from the networking, professional development, and sustainability resources the Partnership facilitates to ensure DC Action for Children succeeds in effectively advocating for children and youth.”
